Congratulations and Greetings be upon all the Muslims on the one thousand four hundred and thirty five years of the Beat hat (Ascension) of the Holy Prophet (S.A).

With regards to the Revelation upon the Holy Prophet (S.A), we come across traditions in the books of Ahle Sunnat which unfortunately the holy realm of divine revelations have been falsely attacked. Their reliable tradition has been narrated by Ayesha. This tradition has been quoted in Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Masnad – e – Hanbal, Seera Ibn Hisham and other books.

In Sahih Bukhari, vol = 1 , pg = 27 , Ayesha narrates the events of the first revelations in such a way.

“ Jibrael came towards the Holy Prophet (S.A) and said “ O Mohammed,you are the Messenger of the Almighty”. The Holy Prophet (S.A) told me (Ayesha),that this meeting , my body was shivering. I came towards Khadijaand told her to cover me with a shroud of cloth. It took some time till fear and stress of this meeting passed off. During this time, Jibrael came towards me. At that time, I had taken a firm decision to throw myself from the mountain. It was at this time that Jibrael appeared in front of me for the third time and said, “ O Mohammed ! Read” I said “ what should I read” he caught me for three times and squeezed me. The pressure of squeezing was so much that I was about to break down, then, he said, “Read in the name of your Lord who created”. Then, I went towards Khadija. I told her the story. She consoled me and took me to her cousin brother Waraq Ibn Noufel. He said “ Do not fear . the heavenly book that had been revealed upon Moosa and Easa has been revealed upon you.”

In the book of Tabaqat – ul – Kubra, vol = 2 , pg = 195 , a tradition has been quoted from Urwat Ibn Zubair that the Holy Prophet (S.A) said to Khadija, “ I am seeing a light and am hearing a voice. Now, I am fearing that I am becoming a Jewish priest or have become mad.

Though they may be famous, these type of traditions with such indecent and shocking explanations are incorrect and false as per their text and documents.

1 – the birth of Ayesha took place in the fourth or fifth or sixth year after the Baethat. Thus, she could not be a witness of the event.

2 – the integral part of the correctness of the tradition is the acceptance of doubt and indecision of the Holy Prophet (S.A) towards the revelation. The Holy Quran say.

The Apostle believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord.

The prophets never doubt about the Holy Revelations. Thus, the tradition quoted is against the Holy Quran.

3 – the necessity of the correctness of the tradition is the faith and awareness of Khadija and Waraqa Ibn Noufel towards the Prophet (S.A). It was not in this way and the confirmation of the above statement is the Ayats of the Holy Quran. “ say, Surely I have manifest proof from my lord.

4 – the fear and stress of the Holy Prophet (S.A) and that too up to the point that he wanted to commit suicide is a matter which is non acceptable. As per the Ayats of the Holy Quran, the Prophet hood of the Holy Prophet before him had foretold his coming and ascension. The Ahle Kitab were fully knowing him by name and sign and characteristics. “ And when Isa, son of Marium said: O children of Israel ! surely I am the Apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before of me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad.

Herein, we narrate the event of the first revelation from the only one who had witnessed the holy episode. We leave it to the reader to judge and compare the traditions narrated from the caliphate school and to those narrated by the school of Ahlul Bait(S.A).

Hazrat Ali (A.S) describes the first revelation in such a way.

From the time of his weaning, Allah had put a mighty angel with him to take him along the path of high character and good behaviour through day and night, while I used to follow him like a young camel following in the footprints of its mother.

Every day he would show me in the form of a banner some of his high traits and commanded me to follow it. Every year he used to go in seclusion to the hill of Hira, where I saw him but no one else saw him. In those days Islam did not exist in any house except that of the Prophet of Allah _ peace and blessing of Allah be upon him and his descendants – and Khadijah , while I was the third after these two. I used to see and watch the effulgence of divine revelation and message, and breathed the scent of Prophethood.

When the revelation descended on the Prophet of Allah _ peace and blessing of Allah be upon him and his descendants _ I heard the moan of Satan. I said, “ O prophet of Allah, what is this moan?” and he replied, “ this is Satan who has lost all hope of being worshipped. O’ ‘ Ali, you see all that I see and you hear all that I hear, except that you are not a Prophet, but you are a vicegerent and you are surely on ( the path of ) virtue.

We see that in the tradition quoted by Hazrat Ali (A.S) there is nothing about fear, stress and doubt of the Holy Prophet (S.A) about the holy revelation. The text of the tradition quoted by Ayesha is against the Ayats of the Holy Quran and wisdom. Hazrat Ali (A.S) says, “ even before the Baethat, the Holy Prophet (S.A) was in contact with the Divine Augel. Revelation was not reveled to him unexpectedly so that he will think that he has become mad.
