Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq was born in Madina in an early morning of a faraday (or Monday) the 17th of Rabi ul-Awwal of 80 or 83 A.H. That year was later called as the year of hunger."
Jafar Ibn Muhammad Ibn Ali Ibn Husain Ibn Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) was the 6th Imam, his nickname was Abu Abdullah, and his famous title was "Sadiq". He had other titles, such as Saber, Taher, and Fazel. Moreover, since his contemporary jurisprudents and scholars, who even were not his Shia's, found that holy Imam so honest ppreciated histruthfulness in relation of the Islamic traditions, so he became famous as Sadiq. Yet the Imam, who was appointed by God and expressly stated in the texts of the last Imams, was much superior to just being described as truth speaker and honest!
Events in the night of Prophet Muhammad's birthday
It is narrated that in the night of Prophet Muhammad's birthday happened a lot of and important events around the world that were not happened before that time. Maybe the general tradition about that was the tradition that sheikh Saduq in his book, "Amali" narrated from the Imam Sadiq (a.s.), and it's translation was: The devil went up to the skies, and when the jesses was born, he prohibited from the 3 skies, and till 4 skies went up, and when the Prophet of Islam was born, he was prohibited from the all of 7 skies, and the devils prohibited with putting of stars, and since Quraish saw that, said:
The Last Day that scholars of the book had said is happened.
Amr Ibn Umayeh who was more informed about the wizard and astronomy than the peoples in his time, said to them: "note that if the stars that guide peoples, and the summer and winter are understood by them, then you must know that the Last Day is happened, and it was a beginning of destruction of every thing; but if it is different from it, than a new event is happened."
The martyrdom of Imam Hasan Askari (AS) is a pretext for an abridged review on the life of this holy Imam (AS). Imam Hasan Askari (AS) was born on the 11 th Sha'ban 231 AH. or 232 A.H. in Medina. Imam Hadi (A.S) was his father and his mother was Hadith or Saleel. She was such a very virtuous and meritorious women that after the martyrdom of the eleventh Imam, she was considered as a place of refuge for the Shiahs. After the martyrdom of Imam Reza (AS), his children were called as Ibnur - Reza. Imam Hasan Askari (AS) was also called by this laqab (title). During the year 235 AH., Imam Hadi (AS) was forced to come to Iraq from Medina by the cruel rulers of Bani Abbas. At that time, Imam Hasan Askari (A.S) was only three or four years old. Due to frequent visits by the people, the caliph had ordered that they should live in a military area and be under tight government surveillance. Therefore, the Laqab (title) of Askariain was given to them. Askari means army. The reason for such a harsh treatment was that they had heard an authentic and reliable tradition from the Holy Prophet of Islam (S.A) and the holy Infallibles (A.S) to the effect that the son of Imam Hasan Askari (AS) will be the promised Divine leader who will destroy injustice and corruption from this world. He will cast the shadow of Tauhid and Belief in the Almighty on this Earth. The fragrance of universal equality and truthfulness will fill the universe.
“Refrain and keep away from dispute and quarrel. It take away your goodness and kindness. Rafrain from useless and vain jokes. Others will dare you and overpower you.”
When he was born his father said that it was an order from the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) that he should be named Hasan. It was so well known that the last Imam's father would be called Hasan that people had previously looked for the 12th Imam amongst the sons of Imam Hasan AI-Mujtaba (a.s.) His mother was Sulail (or Hudaitha) who was a slave of the 10th Imam whom he had freed and subsequently married. The 10th Imam said of her that she was one who was free from all vice and pollution and that she was one of the righteous ones. Once when Imam Hasan AI-Askery (A.S.) was a young child, he fell into a well near their house. His father Imam Ali An-Naqi (A.S.) was praying and didn't even notice the commotion around him of the ladies crying. When he finished praying and asked what had happened, he was told. He went towards the well. The water rose and all saw the 11th Imam sitting peacefully on the water and playing. Bahlool once saw the young Imam crying in the street where all the other children were busy playing with their toys. He asked whether Imam was crying because he had no toys to play with. Imam replied: "We have not been created to play!" Bahlool asked where he had learnt his from and the Imam said: "Have you not read the Qur'an where it says - "Do you think we have created you in vain and that you will not be returned to us". When Bahlool heard this he asked Imam for some advice. Imam talked about death, barzakh and qiyama and cried so much, he fainted. When he came to, Bahlool asked him why he was so fearful as he was not even baligh yet. Imam said: "I have watched my mother light a fire; she uses the little twigs to get the big pieces of wood to burn; I fear that on qiyama Allah too will use little ones to light the big ones.
